History and location

Hazel Park is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As a part of Metro Detroit, the city shares its southern border with the city of Detroit. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,422. Hazel Park was incorporated as a city in 1941 and bills itself as The Friendly City.

Harding Park

Located in the northeast part of the City, Harding Park is the City’s second-largest park. The park contains a variety of athletic fields, picnic areas, children’s play areas, a universal design play structure, a wooded open space area, and a parking lot for visitors. The park added the Kayla White Memorial Playground in 2016.

Green Acres Park

Hazel Park there is an area that holds multiple opportunities to get fit, to enjoy nature, and to take in some interesting views. It’s called Green Acres, and if you want to enjoy a nice hour or two, this is the place to be.
The park itself has a large pavilion and a restroom building, the side of which as a brightly painted octopus done by muralist Carl Oxley at this year’s Hazel Park Art Fair. Nearby is a volley ball net, and three softball fields.
