Breakfast
M-1 Grill is the most popular place downtown to get a full breakfast. If you’re looking for something quick for breakfast try Lafayette Market, they have breakfast sandwiches and carry a Pontiac local favorite, Avon Doughnuts.
Walk
Canvas Pontiac is an annual art competition presented by the DIA; the top 25 submissions are displayed on 8 x 10 ft canvases throughout our downtown located on the facades of many wonderful buildings to visit in downtown Pontiac and in all of our green spaces as well. For a complete list, grab a walking tour map at any of our downtown restaurants or retail shops.
Café
Alley Cat Café is located in the heart of downtown Pontiac, they serve salads, sandwiches and the best gelato in town. While you’re there ask the barista to show you Pontiac’s hidden gem, the Paissa Wine Cellar.
Shop
There is a variety of shops in downtown Pontiac, clothing from local designers at E & K Arts & More, the famous Michigan Mittens is located inside Earth 2 Earth. Saginaw Consignments always has interesting pieces to decorate your home. Paint your own ceramic sculpture at Bob and Hazel’s Ceramics. If you are looking for a great deal on something specific, check out Main Street Pawn Shop.
Food
Have a seat on the patio of Fillmore 13 Brewing Company and enjoy a craft beer with one of their signature pizzas or a great burger. Play vintage video games while you wait for light taco dinner at the other premier brewery in Pontiac, Exferimentation. If you need a pick me up after dinner try 4th Dimension Coffee, conveniently located in the same building as those two amazing breweries. Prefer a cocktail with your dinner, try Liberty Bar.
Shows
Catch a show from one of our many entertainment venues. The Crofoot has been producing shows in Pontiac for over a decade. The beautifully restored Flagstar Strand Theater is another place to check out live performances. For something more intimate like an old movie or small musical act, check out Pontiac’s Little Art Theater. If you are looking for something a little more interactive, try taking an art class at The Art Experience or challenge your friends to escape a room at Erebus Escape.

Exferimentation is known for their experimental brewing of unique beer flavors but they also have a solid street style taco to soak up the alcohol. Fillmore 13 Brewing Company is a great place to sink your teeth into a burger, but if you’re not into meat they have more vegetarian options then any place in Pontiac. If you want a cocktail with your dinner, check out Liberty Bar.
Art
Club
Try your feet at swing dancing @ The Venue with dance instructing couple, The Magic Markers. Ready to bounce to the club, visit Vouge Night Club or Elektricity, why not both. They are conveniently located right next to each other. Prefer to bob your heard to indie rock or watch a comedy show, check out The Crofoot to find out who’s performing.

M-1 Grill is open late and has something for everyone on the menu. Don’t even get out of your car, M1 Grill has a drive through window.
